High voltage line pin type porcelain insulator:
High-voltage line pin porcelain insulators are mainly used for insulating and supporting conductors in overhead transmission lines. According to the rated voltage, it is divided into five grades: 6, 10, 15, 20 and 35kV. The pin insulator is composed of porcelain and steel feet (or screw sleeves), and the porcelain and steel feet (or screw sleeves) are connected with Portland cement cement as a whole. The surface of the porcelain is white or brown, and the surface of the steel foot is hot-dip galvanized.

Flashover

A disruptive discharge external to the insulator, connecting those parts which normally have the operating voltage between them.
Dry lightning impulse withstand voltage
The lightning impulse voltage which the insulator withstand dry, under the prescribed conditions of the test
Wet power frequency withstand voltage
The power frequency voltage which the insulator withstand wet, under the prescribed conditions of test.

Puncture voltage

The voltage which causes puncture of a string insulator unit or a rigid insulator under the prescribed conditions of test
